A development of four units, 2 pairs of semi-detached 2 bedroom houses, and associated external works. The local ecology played a considerable factor in the design of the project due to rare wildlife habitats within the site. We constructed a new pond on the site to carefully relocate rare grey crested newt.
The project required compliance with Code for Sustainable Homes, Lifetime Homes and Secure by Design standards. The design included strip foundations, ground bearing slabs, masonry walls and trussed roofs. We built the houses in a conservation area and in order satisfy the requirements of the National Park we were required to use slate roof coverings and timber windows, fascias and soffits. Challenging site conditions including a large change in levels on the site, the construction of large retaining walls and the grading of the site to create a habitable location.
The development was delivered to the client's expectations, on time and within budget.
